Growing and Going: Jasmine Nicole McCorvey’s Journey from Curious Apprentice to Marketing Specialist
Jasmine Nicole McCorvey’s introduction to Clear Digital Labs started with a pamphlet her mother handed her, an ad for a free 16-week dual marketing program with Los Angeles Harbor College. She almost didn’t need the sales pitch. Jasmine had already been running pop-up shops, video rollouts, and product launches for her own music and art career for years. She just didn’t have a name for what she was doing yet.
Applying wasn’t really a leap for her. She already saw marketing as something she’d been practicing on her own terms, and CDL looked like the tool that could sharpen instinct into skill.
The bet on herself worked. Jasmine is now on the verge of a well-earned promotion to marketing specialist, a milestone that caps off a period of rapid growth as a core member of the CDL team.

From Clueless to Confident
Ask Jasmine to describe her time at CDL in her own words and she doesn’t hold back: effective, informative, life-changing, intentional, hands-on, influential. It’s a lot of adjectives, but each one earns its place once you hear how far she’s come.
“Hands-on experience helped prepare me because I truly had to learn as I went,” she explains. “I went from feeling clueless to actually feeling like a growing marketer, perfecting my niche of content creation, social media management, and writing.”
That growth shows up clearly in her day-to-day work. Jasmine has taken on the responsibility of managing multiple social media channels and producing blog content, describing her biggest area of growth as “being given the opportunity to manage many social media channels as well as produce blogs and being given the creative space to grow in these areas and produce effective work.” That’s not a responsibility CDL hands out lightly, and it shows the kind of trust her team has placed in her.
Getting there took real effort. Jasmine is candid about the challenges along the way: staying focused, pushing through moments of feeling like an imposter, attending team meetings even when she felt shy or unsure whether she had something to contribute. Remote programs, she notes, can feel like a drag until you find your routine. She found hers.
Personal Work, Professional Growth
When asked about her favorite project so far, Jasmine doesn’t point to a client campaign. She points to her own single, “Purrr,” and the rollout behind it. It’s a fitting answer from someone whose entire approach to marketing has always been personal first. Long before CDL, she was already acting as her own case study, testing rollout strategy, content creation, and audience-building on her own art. CDL simply gave her the framework to understand what she’d been doing instinctively and sharpen it into something repeatable.

That blend of personal passion and professional discipline is central to the advice she’d give other apprentices hoping to grow within CDL: “Combine your own personal work and experiences with what you learn in CDL. Have patience, it may be a slow journey, but if you take it seriously it will lead to something great.”
What’s Next
Jasmine’s ambitions extend well beyond her upcoming title change. Looking ahead, she wants to consistently position herself as a specialist, build more visibility, and open the door to freelance opportunities, all while continuing to educate herself so the expertise behind the title is real, not just a line on her resume. Asked where she sees herself in five years, she doesn’t hesitate: “As an influential, knowledgeable brand strategist, artist, and just [a] powerful entrepreneur.”

If her CDL journey were a chapter title, Jasmine already knows what she’d call it: “Growing and Going.” As she describes it, the program positioned her to grow into a real marketer and gave her the chance to go places she wasn’t even conscious of yet, including becoming CDL’s own social media manager and blog specialist. Each opportunity, she says, is simply preparing her for what comes next.
Her mantra for anyone walking a similar path is short and to the point: keep going. It’s worked for her so far, and it looks like she’ll be taking that advice far into the future.
